Online Scholarship Policies
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
  1. Applicant must be a Seventh-day Adventist in good standing.
  2. Be employed in a library for at least three to five years.
  3. Age range for application is 20 – 45 years.
  4. Applicant must be accepted into an online library and information science degree or baccalaureate degree program.
APPLICATION PROCESS
  1. Fill in the registration form.
  2. Send the resume as a PDF or Word document.
  3. Send the essay as a PDF or Word document.
  4. Send references via e-mail (INCLUDE MAIL).
  5. Write name and date after reading the agreement.
  6. Submit a copy of grades to the committee each semester.
  7. The assistantship consists of the tuition tuition cost, all other expenses are the responsibility of the scholarship recipient.
RESUME

Contestants shall submit a typed curriculum vitae. The resume should not exceed two pages in length and, at a minimum, should contain the following information:

  1. Entrant’s full name
  2. Address
  3. Cellular and institutional telephone number
  4. Information about studies
  5. Cumulative grade point average
  6. Honors and awards
  7. Extracurricular activities (school and/or community activities)
  8. Work experience
  9. An objective about educational or career goals for the future.
  10. List professional organizations (library and other) to which you belong.
ESSAY

Participants will write an essay of approximately 500 words on the following topic:

  1. Describe your interest in librarianship, your career goals, and the contributions you believe you could make to Seventh-day Adventist librarianship.
  2. The essay must be the original work of the participant. Plagiarism is not permitted.
  3. The essay must be typed, Arial font, size 12 font, and double-spaced.
REFERENCE LETTERS

You are responsible for getting the reference request from three people, not relatives, who know your background, intellectual abilities and personal character in fine. They should be the following people:

  1. Director of the library where you work.
  2. Vice Chancellor (a) Academic (a)
  3. Your immediate boss

Send them by e-mail ([email protected]) before the deadline specified above.

The data of those who send the references:

  1. Name and title
  2. Email
  3. Telephone
CHRONOGRAM

The calendar for the selection process is as follows:

  1. Closing date for applications: June (admission year)
  2. Selection and approval process: August (admission year)
  3. Notification to recipients: August (year of admission)
  4. Award of the scholarship at a presentation event: September (admission year)
  5. Applicants may be asked to provide further written information about their proposals.

Interviews may be arranged for pre-selected candidates. The committee reserves the right not to award the scholarship.
